Anadenanthera Peregrina(Yopo) is a genus of trees, some of which produce variable concentrations and ratios of DMT, bufotenin and 5-MeO-DMT in their seeds. The use of Yopo dates back thousands of years. There are over 55 South American indigenous tribes known to have used Yopo. Shamans describe the experience of using Yopo as an opening of the 3rd eye, being able to perceive in the light of the non-physical spiritual dimensions. Central to the Sikuani Yopo tradition is the use of prayers to invoke healing energies. They believe that their word and the vibration of their prayers is the very power of creation. This belief is more or less the same as what Buddhist monks do by chanting.
For every imbalance or illness there is a corresponding prayer to cure it. Sikuani, older shamans, know more than 2000 prayers and study intensively from the age of eight. Yopo is very powerful and able to provide you with a real spiritual journey. Awareness raising is the order of the day. Yopo snuff (cohoba) is usually blown into the user's nostrils by another person through a tube in a v-shape. This attachment is called Kuripe, which we also offer on our site. Because of the blowing, larger amounts of Yopo can be introduced into the nostrils. This effective way gives a less irritating feeling to the user. Of course, the user may also choose to snort the seeds after treatment, according to instructions.
Yopo (Anadenanthera Peregrina) seeds.
Yopo is comparable to DMT, LSD, but less intense and the trip not as long. Short, intense hallucinogenics 45-60 minutes.
Do not take more than 3 Yopo seeds at a time and use a plastic or wooden tube to sniff the Yopo brew! Warning: hallucinations start within minutes after administration!
By sniffing Yopo instead of taking it orally, you limit the side effects. After sniffing the brew, there may be a temporary pain in the sinuses, of course this is of short duration. If you decide to take Yopo orally, you may experience unpleasant side effects such as vomiting, nausea, headaches and some sort of dizziness. These side effects are often caused if the prescribed dosage of more than three seeds is exceeded.
- Take 1 to 3 Yopo seeds (do not use more than 3 Yopo seeds per person!)
- Roast the Yopo seeds gently in a frying pan until they split or pop open. This may take half an hour.
- Remove the skin from the seeds and continue to roast the inside of the Yopo seeds until they are crisp.
- Process the dried seeds into a fine powder, the finer the better.
- Add lime at half the amount of your ground Yopo powder.
- Add baking powder to half the amount of your ground Yopo powder.
- Add a few drops of water and combine/mix into a thick paste.
