Lion's mane Growing: A Step-by-Step Guide

Cultivation instructions Lion's mane grow kit

1. Once the grow kit arrives, give the mycelium a few days to recover. Expose it to air so it can breathe. Then fold the bag back up as shown:

2. Wait until you see small white protrusions on the substrate. Then it's time to make cuts for optimal growth. Fold using the elastic band provided. Place the grow kit on a clean surface, preferably on a damp cloth on a plate. Make sure the area where you place the grow kit is free of draughts. If necessary, place the bag with holes over the grow set to create a humid environment. To increase humidity, you can spray the inside of the bag wet. Make two cuts of about 5 cm in the block, preferably on either side of the label and then slant upwards. You can also choose to lay the block on its side and make the cuts at the top. This way, the wig mushrooms will grow at the top of the block instead of on the side.

3. Ensure a humidity of 70-80% and a temperature of 18-24°C.

4. Harvest: When the Lion's mane are bright white, and before they discolour, it is time to harvest.

Storage advice

Store your fresh Lion's mane in a paper bag in the fridge. You can store them for a week.
