ACHIEVING MOKSHA STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS

ACHIEVING MOKSHA STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS

Achieve a Moksha state with magic mushrooms? It is possible! This is liberation from samsara, the cycle of death and rebirth that depends on karma. Are you curious about how to achieve this so-called Moksha state with magic mushrooms? You can read about that in this article.

What is Moksha?

Moksha is liberation from samsara. In Buddhism and Hinduism, this is the cycle of death and rebirth-without beginning and without end-under the influence of delusion and karma. Samsara is the world as 'ordinary' beings experience it, where mental and emotional states of desire, irritation, and confusion regularly arise and take over. In the samara world, you live with an unenlightened mind, but it is possible to enlighten it. If this succeeds, you live in nirvana, and in that world you do not experience craving, irritation and confusion. The environment is the same, the mental state is only different.

The Moksha state is attainable when you distinguish between thinking and doing. Within Buddhism and Hinduism, you can achieve Moksha through four yogas or paths:

  • Karma yoga, the path of selfless action
  • Bhakti-yoga, the path of loving devotion and surrender to God
  • Raja-yoga, the path of self-discipline and practice
  • Jnana yoga, the path of knowing

Psilocybin mushrooms

Mushrooms contain the substance psilocybin - a substance that provides mind-altering or hallucinatory effects that kick in after ingestion. This substance can cause your consciousness to change, enabling you to realise transformations. Each psilocybin mushroom has its own unique properties and effects, but in general it causes the following effects:

  • Changes in sensory (sensory) perception,
  • Changes in mood,
  • Changes in time perception,
  • Changes in mental processes,
  • Physical effects.

Achieving moksha state with magic mushrooms

With psilocybin mushrooms, it is possible to undergo a spiritual journey full of magic and wonder. Among other things, it is possible to reach the so-called Moksha state with magic mushrooms. A symbolic cycle of death and rebirth without beginning and end. This is also called ego-death among psychonauts.

During such a Moksha state you destroy your ego, so to speak, but you also strengthen it. You experience a death, after which you subsequently improve your life. You leave behind the samsara world with an unenlightened mind, so to speak, and step into the nirvana world with an enlightened mind. You leave all desire, irritation and confusion behind. Such a Moksha state can be triggered by using psychedelic magic mushrooms (or magic truffles) and meditation.

Ego-death vs Moksha

Ego-death is similar to the Moksha state. Ego-death, like Moksha, is a symbolic death and rebirth. For many psychedelic explorers, it is a kind of holy grail to achieve. During such ego-death, you experience a release of your ego and see your mind from a distance.

From Buddhist teachings, the ego is entangled in attachment, desire and fear. This prevents you from achieving true self-awareness. When using psychedelics, a part of yourself splits off from your ego, enabling you to see things objectively. And once you have experienced such ego death, it is almost impossible to return to your ego attachments from before. Moksha style: you step out of the samsara world and into the nirvana world.

Effects of ego death or Moksha

An ego-death or Moksha state brings mixed feelings. For some, it brings wonderful and positive experiences, while for others it is confrontational and frightening.

Negative effects

  • It forces the psyche to see parts of itself that it is not yet ready for.
  • It can be frightening, confrontational and confusing.
  • It chases you out of a world full of certainties into a perhaps chaotic and unpredictable new world.
  • It can cause a total mental breakdown in some.

Positive effects

  • You no longer hide the truth and face reality, however painful it may be.
  • It takes a lot of courage to confront the unknown.
  • It can produce a wonderful and euphoric experience.
  • It can make you a better person and address weaknesses in behavior.
