San Pedro Cutting Macrogona (Trichocereus) 25 - 35 cm

The San Pedro Cutting Macrogona (Trichocereus) 25–35 cm is a cutting from a striking columnar cactus with a green to blue-green colour and clearly defined ribs. The cutting can be used to grow your own cactus. Once roots have developed, the cutting can grow into a distinctive, upright cactus.

What is San Pedro Macrogona?

Trichocereus macrogonus, also classified within the genus Echinopsis, is a South American columnar cactus. The plant belongs to a group of closely related Trichocereus species and is known for its sturdy, ribbed stems and distinctive spines. The cactus naturally contains mescaline.

Care

Allow the cut end of the cutting to dry out completely and harden before planting it in the soil. If the cut end is already completely dry and hard on delivery, the cutting can be planted in well-draining cactus compost. Plant the cutting a few centimetres deep and ensure it is firmly upright.

Keep the soil dry during the initial stage until the cutting begins to develop roots. Place it in a light and warm spot, but allow it to gradually acclimatise to strong direct sunlight. Once roots have formed, you can carefully start watering. Allow the soil to dry out completely each time before watering again.
