Passionflower (Passiflora Incarnata) is a hardy and produces beautiful blue flowers when in bloom. Besides its beauty, this climber is also medicinal and is still used today for its effective effects, such as reducing and possibly eliminating insomnia, anxiety, skin irritations and burns, ADHD and other conditions such as asthma. Passion flower 5x extract is often used as a sedative or sleep aid. This plant contains MAO inhibitors which is why it is often combined with other Entheogens such as e.g. Mushrooms, Truffles: Mushrooms, Truffles etc.
MAOI is an enzyme that breaks down Monoamines (adrenaline, serotonin, dopamine, etc.). A Mao inhibitor inhibits this breakdown process. This breakdown process promotes a stronger and more intense trip in users of Entheogens simply because less of the substance psilocin is broken down by the body.
