OUTDOOR CANNABIS GROW REPORT: FLOWERING PHASE

OUTDOOR CANNABIS GROW REPORT: FLOWERING PHASE

Welcome to our third Outdoor Cannabis Grow Report of the year. In my previous Outdoor Cannabis Grow Report, we talked about the growth phase of the photoperiod plants and also the Purple Kush autoflowers in bloom. The Purple Kush has become a delicious weed with a nice fruity, sweet taste and quite a punch. The effect is mainly in the body, but is also definitely present in the mind. Unfortunately, I've almost smoked this delicious weed already!

Luckily, the harvest time for the second round of autoflowers is getting closer and closer and after that the Photoperiod plants will follow one by one. In this third blog, we will talk about the beginning of the flowering phase of my 'Photoperiod plants. They are all in bloom now, some cannabis plants are in a more advanced stage than the others. The Runtz Autoflowers have also grown enormously and have started to flower.

Photoperiod Flowering Cannabis plants

All photoperiod cannabis plants have been stretching, quite tall, and large. This is a natural process that prevents the pre-flowering of most cannabis plants from becoming as large as possible. The cannabis plants are at least 1.85+ to 2.5 meters high. The stretching has now stopped, and they have started growing buds. These plants are now in bloom:

Photoperiod:

  • Hollands Hope (Dutch Passion) (38L Air-Pot)
  • BigBud (50L Air-Pot) rap)
  • Blue Forest Berry (Growerschoice) (#1 75L Smart-Bag #2 38L Air-Rap)
  • Mohammed (CNNBS x Seedstockers) (#1 50L Air -rap & #2 38L Air-Pot)

Autoflowers:

  • Round 2: Runtz Automatic (20L Air-Pots) -> In Bloom

Despite the many rain showers and the low temperatures this summer, all my cannabis plants are doing quite well! I do see some discolourations and some leaf dying here and there, but this is fairly normal as the flowering phase progresses. The combination with a lot of rain does not contribute to this either. Fortunately, it has remained dry in recent days and my cannabis plants have been able to recover somewhat.

Lollipopping/Thieves of my Cannabis plants

Lollipopping, also called thieves, is pruning away the lower part of the plant during flowering. Mainly, the leaves and tops that receive little or no light are cut. This ensures that the nutrition and light will not be wasted on the small tops of leaves at the bottom, but on the larger tops and leaves at the top. If done correctly, this can provide even more yield. I have done this with some of my cannabis plants, where I think it can have a positive effect.

The food

The nutrition I give is from CANNA and Plagron and of course Organic.

The nutrition I give in the flowering phase consists of BIOCANNA: Rhizotonic (root stimulator), Boost (booster), Flores (flowering fertilizer). Recently, the additions Plagron Green Sensation 4-in1 and Plagron Sugar Royal have also been added. Together, these two are also referred to as the “Best Buds” package by Plagron. We will briefly tell you about both.

The Hero: Green Sensation: This is more than just a Booster. It improves flowering, increases resistance, improves soil and maximizes yield. In short, it makes for heavier and more compact buds! Green Sensation also causes “salt stress”, which means that the cannabis plants can absorb more moisture. In addition, it contains Potassium, which the cannabis plant really needs in the flowering phase.

The Sidekick: Sugar Royal: Improves the taste of the end product enormously and accelerates the growth and flowering of the cannabis plants. Sugar Royal causes “drought stress” which causes the plant to produce more resin. Of course, this ensures a more intense taste and smell. Sugar Royal also contains amino acids that are necessary building blocks for cannabis plants.

The Runtz Autoflowers

Last but not least, we conclude with an update of the Runtz autoflowers. These are my fastest growing and best performing autoflowers so far! They have grown enormously since I germinated them. The Runtz autoflowers are now about +/- 80 cm. All three of the autoflower cannabis plants have entered their flowering phase and have started to stretch. Hopefully, I can start harvesting these autoflower cannabis plants just before the Photoperiod.

You can read back the previous Outdoor Cannabis Grow Reports at blogs 24High.com. The next blog will be about, the harvest, the processing of this harvest up to curing your cannabis to preserve the taste and quality for a longer period.
