Pink Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) Sliced, also known as the Pink Lotus, Sacred Lotus or Indian Lotus, is a remarkable aquatic plant with a long cultural history in Asia. The lotus has played an important role in various traditions for centuries and has a particularly strong symbolic significance within Buddhism. There, the flower is often associated with purity and enlightenment. A distinctive feature is that the plant grows from muddy riverbeds, whilst its striking flowers rise above the water.

Pink Lotus is prized for its distinctive flowers, delicate aroma and unique cultural background. The dried and cut petals are highly versatile. Traditionally, they are used, amongst other things, to make herbal tea, added to various herbal blends or used as a base for preparing an extract.

Usage

To make Pink Lotus tea, the dried petals can be steeped in hot water for around 10 to 15 minutes. Pink Lotus can also be combined with other herbs in a herbal blend or processed into an extract.

Storage advice

Store Pink Lotus in a dry, cool and dark place, preferably in a tightly sealed container and away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
