What is the Waikiki Waves Growkit?

The Waikiki Waves Growkit contains a fully colonised substrate on which the mycelium has already fully developed. This means you no longer need to inject spores or carry out sterile procedures. The kit is designed to make growing as easy as possible and is therefore suitable for both novice and experienced growers.

How does a magic mushroom grow kit work?

A magic mushroom grow kit contains fully developed mycelium that has already grown through the sterile substrate. As soon as the right conditions are in place – such as sufficient humidity, a temperature between 20 and 25°C and indirect daylight – the mycelium will naturally form mushrooms. As the grow kit is already fully colonised, you do not need to add any spores and can start the cultivation process straight away.

How do you use the Waikiki Waves Grow Kit?

• Store unused grow kits in a cool place (2–4°C).
• Place the kit in the supplied grow bag.
• Ensure a constant temperature between 20 and 25°C.
• Place the grow kit in a bright spot out of direct sunlight.
• Ventilate according to the instructions to ensure a sufficient supply of fresh air.
• Always work as cleanly as possible to prevent contamination.

Extra tip during cultivation

When the mycelium or substrate starts to visibly shrink, you can carefully pour a small glass of water down the inside of the plastic container. Make sure the water remains beneath the substrate and is about 1 to 2 centimetres below the top of the substrate. This will maintain the moisture level without the substrate becoming too wet.

What can you expect?

Under good conditions, the Waikiki Waves Grow Kit produces an average of 2 to 3 flushes. The total yield is usually around 300 to 400 grams of fresh mushrooms, depending on temperature, humidity, hygiene and care.
