Kanna Blitz Speed

Kanna Blitz Speed is a formula containing kanna extract (Sceletium tortuosum), supplemented with taurine, theobromine from cocoa and caffeine. According to the manufacturer, the kanna extract is standardised for mesembrine and all ingredients have been tested for purity and consistency.

What is kanna?

Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum, now also known as Mesembryanthemum tortuosum) is a succulent plant from the Aizoaceae family that occurs naturally in the Cape Provinces of South Africa. The name ‘kanna’ comes from the Khoekhoe language; in Afrikaans, the plant is also known as ‘kougoed’. The plant has pale-coloured flowers and stems that become woody over the years. The first known written account of the use of kanna is by Jan van Riebeeck, dating from 1662.
