Kanna 20x Extract

Kanna 20x Extract by Mystic Herbs is a concentrated extract of kanna, a succulent plant with the scientific name Sceletium tortuosum. Nowadays, the species is also classified as Mesembryanthemum tortuosum. According to the product specification, the extract is approximately 20 times stronger than standard kanna.

What is kanna?

Kanna is a succulent plant from the ice plant family (Aizoaceae) that grows wild in the Cape Provinces of South Africa, from Namakwaland to Montagu and Aberdeen. The name ‘kanna’ is derived from the local name for the plant in the Khoekhoe language. The plant has pale-coloured flowers approximately 2 to 3 centimetres wide. The first known written account of the use of kanna dates from 1662 and is by Jan van Riebeeck.

Usage

• Tea: 15 mg per cup.
• Chewing (e.g. with chewing gum for flavour): 2.5 to 7.5 mg.
• Sniffing: 5 to 7.5 mg.
