MORE CREATIVITY AND PRODUCTIVITY WITH MICRODOSING
You may like the movie Lucy with Scarlett Johansson yet bring to mind. In this movie, Lucy has a bag of a new kind of drug called CPH4 hidden in her stomach. When Lucy gets into a fight moments later, she gets a kick in the stomach that tears open the bag with the drugs in her stomach. Little by little, the drugs are released and enter her bloodstream. As a result, Lucy is able to use more and more of her brain capacity. Gradually she turns into a kind of superhero with the brains of 10,000 supercomputers together. This is a movie and not reality. At least that's what you would think... Perhaps not so extreme, but you too can give your life a boost by means of microdosing. In this article we briefly explain what microdosing is and how you can use it to be more active, productive, creative and energetic.
What is and what does Microdosing do with psychedelics or drugs?
It is a technique that ensures that you can improve functioning with very small amounts of psychedelics or drugs, the so-called microdoses. In fact, it works exactly like brain dosing. Often LSD, psilocybin mushrooms or truffles are used for microdosing. LSD, or d-lysergic acid diethylamide, is a strong tripping agent that was designed in 1938 on the basis of a grain fungus. During the 60s/70s, the well-known Flower Power era, the recreational use of LSD briefly rose to unprecedented heights. In those years, it was therefore mainly used as a party drug. Today it is not used much anymore. You take LSD through a piece of edible paper of 1 cm2. A microdose is even smaller than that 1 cm2, and the goal is that you spread the dose throughout the day. Microdosing is of course also possible with other substances, as long as it has an effect. In theory, you could even microdose with paracetamol.
Microdosing with psilocybe mushrooms and truffles increases the serotonin level
Psychedelics like LSD mimic the neurotransmitter serotonin when they ´enter the brain, and it is known that there is also a marked increase in serotonin level when a person is in a flow. Likewise, LSD increases the brain's levels of dopamine, another transfer agent found in large amounts when a flow is established. Perhaps most important is psychedelics' ability to mute the DMN (Default-Mode Network), a network of areas in the brain. This enables our brains to make unique connections between areas that normally do not communicate with each other. This is crucial for the emergence of one of flow.
Why should you Microdose with mushrooms or truffles?
If you know how to do it in the right way, it can be microdosing psychedelics, magic mushrooms and truffles, increase your productivity and creativity. It ensures that you get into a kind of flow. Each of us has been in a flow at some point in our lives: a surfer who effortlessly surfs one big wave after another, the therapist who fits perfectly with her client, etc. Simply put, a flow is a mental state in which a person is completely absorbed in his or her activities. A flow is without a doubt a great experience of being human. There is no specific, non-anecdotal evidence to suggest that microdoses of psychedelics can induce flow, but studies have shown that small doses of psilocybin, found in magic mushrooms and truffles, trigger brain waves that shift toward alpha oscillations. , something that is also the case when a person enters a flow.
Reasons why microdosing with psychedelics
Since we know that very small doses (microdoses) of psychedelics can produce similar effects as a flow, it seems likely that a regular microdose regimen could positively alter our consciousness. Especially in people who have ADHD, micrdosing can work well, although it can actually mean something positive for almost everyone. Your concentration and focus will be improved, making you more productive and creative at work or studying. You also sleep better, you have more physical energy and more enthusiasm. In short, it is therefore possible to be more positive and stronger in life with microdosing magic mushrooms or truffles.
How does microdosing with mushrooms or truffles work, according to Dr. Fadiman?
Microdosing with mushrooms or truffles is an art that is not easy to master. However, those experienced with psychedelics should have no problem fine-tuning the psychedelic to get the results they are looking for Dr. James Fadiman, an expert on psychedelic microdosing, has researched the effects of microdosing psilocybe mushrooms. Dr. Fadiman only suggests microdosing mushrooms or truffles if you already have experience with psychedelics, and also recommends taking a microdose of 0.3 grams of dry psilocybe mushrooms once every three days. Taking two days off between microdoses gives you a chance to really feel the benefits of the dose and helps your body avoid getting used to frequent doses. With the microdosing of fresh psilocybe truffles the dose is 1 gram.
Listen carefully to your body and the effects of a microdose and anticipate them
Everyone has a different body, and therefore every reaction is unique. Therefore, it is important to decrease or increase the dose depending on how your body responds to the microdoses. If the colors of objects around you start to become very intense, you are probably taking too much microdose of truffles or magic mushrooms. The effect you want to achieve should be somewhat similar to the afterglow bliss you normally feel after a normal trip with a normal dose of psychedelics. A mild influence should be felt that can lead to better concentration, focus and a higher productivity and creativity. You will also feel happier with microdosing mushrooms and truffles and suffer less from social anxiety.
Keep your Microdosing routine in a diary!
It is recommended to take a serious approach to microdosing with mushrooms or truffles with a clear intention. Keep a journal to track the changes in your perception. This will also help you figure out whether you should increase or decrease the microdose. Ideally, you should be able to live a normal life without experiencing any noticeable psychedelic effects, but at the end of the day you will feel like you've been more productive or creative. Eating right, exercising, and spiritual pursuits will almost certainly help amplify the effect of your microdosing. However, if you start to feel anxious or have trouble sleeping during a course of microdosing, stop for a few days and reduce the dose. Never microdosing with psilocybe mushrooms or truffles for more than a few weeks (maximum 8 to 10) in a row, because the effects of microdosing in the long term are not yet known. Remember that what works for one person may not always have the same effect for another. See and experience your microdosing routine as something new and exciting that you can develop according to your own personal needs.
Contraindications and microdosing advice
If you are younger than 18 years old, we do not recommend microdosing with any drugs or psychedelics such as magic mushrooms and truffles. The sale of psychedelics to people under the age of 18 is even prohibited. Do not use psychedelics in combination with alcohol or other drugs, especially not if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have a mental disorder or physical condition, microdosing is recommended and psychedelics are also not recommended.
Do not microdosing for longer than 8 to a maximum of 10 weeks
We also advise against microdosing psychedelics such as magic mushrooms or truffles for long and uninterrupted periods. Take a break every now and then. Dr. Fadiman therefore recommends stopping for at least a month after a maximum of 8 to 10 weeks, to prevent psychological habituation. This is also for safety reasons, as the long-term effects of microdosing have not yet been studied. You can microdose in a considerably safer way with magic truffles than with LSD, for example. After all, LSD is a mind-altering drug that is many times stronger.
