This unique mushroom grows in warm, humid and shady areas, mainly at the base of deciduous trees. The Reishi’s striking red colour makes it easy to recognise. Although they are best harvested between August and October, they feel soft and cork-like all year round. Due to its special qualities, it is also known as the ‘mushroom of immortality’.

Use

It is advisable to start with a small amount, for example half a teaspoon per day, to see how your body reacts. You can gradually increase the dose to a maximum of 2 teaspoons per day, depending on your individual needs and the manufacturer’s recommendations. You can mix reishi powder with hot water to make a simple tea. Add the powder to the water and stir well. Leave it to steep for a few minutes and then drink it. You can also add the powder to smoothies, juices, coffee or tea. It has a slightly bitter taste, so you can add honey or another sweetener to improve the flavour. Reishi powder can also be used as an ingredient in meals.
