WHAT OTHER CANNABINOIDS ARE THERE IN FULL SPECTRUM CBD OIL?

WHAT OTHER CANNABINOIDS ARE THERE IN FULL SPECTRUM CBD OIL?

CBD (aka cannabidiol) is the most well-known cannabinoid in CBD oil, but it is certainly not the only one. CBD oil contains more than 110 cannabinoids, each of which has its own properties. By choosing a full spectrum product, you therefore not only consume CBD, but also all the other substances. The special thing about all active substances from the hemp plant is that they work together. This is called the entourage effect. For example, a full spectrum CBD can have an even greater positive effect on your health. In this blog we discuss which other cannabinoids are in CBD oil and what their influence is.

The hemp plant: Rich in cannabinoids

When you CBD oil you may think you are buying a bottle that contains only cannabidiol. But if you have opted for a full spectrum product, it contains a large number of other cannabinoids. More than 110 have already been discovered. Each of these cannabinoids has its own special properties. Below, you can see some of the cannabinoids that occur in the hemp plant (and therefore also in CBD products):

  • CBG

What is known about the entourage effect?

Each cannabinoid in full spectrum CBD oil has its own specific characteristics. But if you take all these substances together, they influence each other's effect and properties. In this way, they can change or reinforce each other's effect. This is called the entourage effect. This does not only apply to cannabinoids, but also to the other substances in CBD products, such as terpenes and flavonoids.

However, it is not yet 100% proven that this effect exists and how it works. Not much large-scale research has been done yet. In 2018, the results of multiple studies analyzed. It seemed to emerge from this that pure CBD extracts were not as effective as full spectrum products. Patients who suffered from epileptic seizures benefited more from full spectrum CBD oil. At 71%, the amount of seizures decreased. For the people who received pure CBD, this was only 46%.

Buying Cannabis online

If you want to take CBD oil, it can be advantageous to opt for a full spectrum product. That not only contains cannabidiol, but also the other cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenes. All these substances can support health. But it is quite possible that all active ingredients in CBD oil work synergistically with each other. They can boost each other's properties even more than if you took them separately. So look in our shop for our range of full spectrum CBD oil.
